About ducks:3

Duck is the common name for certain birds of the Anatiae family, mainly of the Anatinae subfamily and within it of the genus Anas. They are not a monolithic group, as swans and geese are not included.

🌾🦆They have a symbolic meaning:

This animal is related to love and fidelity in China, Japan and Korea. This could be in the false belief that the mandarin duck maintains the same mate for life. All three countries use it as a symbol for devoted couples. For example, it is given as a statuette to newlyweds. In the oriental culture the mandarin duck is considered as the symbol of lasting and eternal love, this is because these animals in their environment, are united with a single partner for life and if they are separated they can get sick, and even reach death of love.

🌾🦆It comes from East Asia:

The mandarin duck is native to China, Japan, Korea, and eastern Russia. In addition, it can be found on the west coast of the United States (for example, in California) and in Europe, especially in the southeast of England, indicated in Mental Floss. But, attention! To the surprise of the people who were there, in October 2018 a mandarin duck appeared in Central Park in New York, reports The New York Times.

🌾🦆The male leaves his young:

The male duck leaves once the ducklings hatch. The female is left in the care of 9 to 12 young, on her own. Meanwhile, the male is changing feathers, in preparation for the next mating season.
